The Sports Report will be welcoming its newest recruit in February!
My husband Chance and I are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our little girl. We're only a month away now and getting so excited.
I think she's getting excited too. She seems to be most active when I'm at games – especially volleyball. I hope she'll still enjoy tagging along next season.
She's a big reason The Sports Report was even started last summer. Having an online sports publication has been a dream of mine since I was 16 years old. After working in the area as a freelance sportswriter for a year, I was starting to get a clearer vision of what my dream could look like in reality.
Then we found out we were pregnant and I figured now would be as good a time as any to get to work. I'm sure starting a business isn't any easier with a baby around, so this summer I started researching, planning, and preparing for the official launch in August. I can't thank Chance enough for his support and advice along the way.
And thanks to all of you who have followed and supported The Sports Report. We're averaging over 10,000 monthly views now and growing!
With this kind of momentum, it's a little nerve-racking to think about how things will look in a month. But don't worry, The Sports Report isn't going anywhere.
I'll still be following all the local teams and updating the scores daily. I hope to watch as many competitions as I can this month and once our "recruit is on campus," I guess you could say, I'll be following along via livestream. My plan it to be back on the sidelines for the basketball district tournaments.
Thank you again for all of your support and patience as we navigate this next part of our journey. I know the best is yet to come and I can't wait!
